After spending three years abroad, she drove out to Seattle to pursue her Master of Fine Arts at the University of Washington, where, in her “spare” time, she coaches girls’ basketball all over the Puget Sound. She also founded Basketball Education in Action, an organization dedicated to girls and women’s athletics. Her stories and essays have been published in Toasted Cheese, Colere: A Journal of Cultural Exploration, Memoir, and Broad Street. Her work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and selected as a “Notable Essay” in the Best American Essays in 2017.
