Bea played basketball at Haverford College (D-III) in Pennsylvania, where she earned a B.A. in English with a minor in Psychology. After spending three years abroad, she drove out to Seattle to pursue her Master of Fine Arts at the University of Washington, where, in her “spare” time, she coaches girls’ basketball all over the Puget Sound. She also founded Basketball Education in Action, an organization dedicated to girls and women’s athletics. After finishing a year-long term as an AmeriCorps VISTA Program Coordinator at UW’s Center for Leadership in Athletics, she is now the Manager of Community Programs at Foundations for International Understanding Through Students. Her work has been published in Toasted Cheese, Colere: A Journal of Cultural Exploration, Memoir, and Broad Street. Her work was nominated for the Pushcart Prize in 2017.
